Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays are an essential part of your routine dental appointments. X-rays show our Lubbock dental team any potential areas of concern that aren’t visible to the naked eye. With digital X-rays, the dental process becomes quicker, safer, and more comfortable than with traditional X-rays.
With digital X-rays, images are available almost immediately for both staff and patients. This allows us to detect any issues you may be experiencing and quickly develop a fully customized treatment plan with high accuracy. Best of all, digital X-rays reduce the amount of radiation patients are exposed to by more than 90 percent.
iCat Cone Beam
The iCat Cone Beam is an advanced imaging machine that captures 3D images of the teeth, jaw, bones, and facial structures. This essentially creates a virtual model of the entire mouth, allowing our Lubbock dentists to precisely pinpoint areas of concern and make treatment decisions with more information. One of the most notable benefits is that an iCat Cone Beam scan is quick and comfortable for our patients.
3D Printing
The use of 3D printing allows our team to create accurate models, prosthetics, and restorations in a timely manner. This newer digital technology provides increased efficiency, highly accurate treatments, and less time in the dental chair. Dr. Ketron uses 3D printing to make the patient experience the best it can be.
Intraoral Scanners
Dr. Ketron features two different intraoral scanners at her Lubbock dental office. The TRIOS intraoral scanner is a hand-held 3D scanning device that’s used to capture precise images of the patient’s mouth. This device is similar to the size and shape of a pen, so patients can rest assured that their scan will be simple and comfortable.
We also use an iTero intraoral scanner. This technology is used to digitally capture the structure of your teeth and gums for an optimized treatment plan. iTero is most commonly used for Invisalign and other orthodontic treatments, as it’s great for creating digital impressions.
