Summer Ketron Roark, D.D.S
Summer Ketron Roark, D.D.S., FAGD, is a Lubbock native. Dr. Ketron received her Masters in Microbiology (Immunology) from Texas Tech University and earned her dental degree from UTHealth School of Dentistry in Houston. After dental school, she completed a general practice residency from Louisiana State University, where she achieved competency in IV sedation.
Dr. Ketron is an accomplished dentist and leader. During residency, she studied with the Oral Surgery department and achieved her competency in IV sedation to provide patients with a comfortable and positive dental experience. Through her passion for continuing education she achieved her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD); an honor only seven percent of dentists in the U.S. have achieved, and a Certificate of Achievement by the Misch Resnik Implant Institute. She is also a member of the American College of Dentists and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. All of these efforts have allowed him to provide his patients with a wide range of treatment options.
Dr. Ketron loves dentistry and is giving back to the profession through her leadership and service. She is currently on the Texas Dental Association (TDA) Board of Directors and is the Immediate Past President of the South Plains District Dental Society. She proudly served on the American Dental Association’s (ADA) Council on Membership, Delegate to the ADA, and was the Chairperson for the TDA Annual Dental Meeting. She also serves her local community through the Junior League of Lubbock.
She has been awarded many accolades for her service, such as:
- Fellowship in the International College of Dentists
- Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry
- Texas Academy of General Dentistry New Dentist of the Year
- Texas Dental Association New Dentist Leadership Award
Lastly, Dr. Ketron continues to volunteer at various events- such as, Texas Missions of Mercy, Give Kids A Smile and Everyone for Veterans – which provide free dental services to adults, children and veterans whose access to care in limited.
Dr. Summer Ketron Roark and her husband, Mike, love life in “the Hub City” where she enjoys spending time with her stepson, Luke, her sisters and family, and her doodle, Nox.
